Transform Ageing: Unlocking Innovation
The UK is undergoing a demographic shift and improved life expectancy - one of the great triumphs of the 20th century - looks set to be one of the challenges of this one. We need bold and sustainable innovations, designed and led by people who have lived through the issues they are seeking to address.
These innovations must build on the ideas, energy, talent and resources of people and communities, creating both social and economic value in lockstep with one another.
UnLtd and our delivery partners, Design Council, the South West Academic Health Science network and the Centre for Ageing Better have joined forces with local partners and communities in the south-west to radically re-imagine how we can continue to ensure the health, social and economic wellbeing of people in later life.
Transform Ageing is championing a design-led approach to enhancing people’s experience of ageing. This unique programme combines social entrepreneurship and community action with world class design practice to drive positive change.
Working with communities in Somerset, Devon and Cornwall, we have created six innovation briefs for ambitious social entrepreneurs to develop new ideas or expand existing ones that can positively impact on the challenges of ageing in the south-west.
We are inviting social entrepreneurs from across the UK to work with us. Together with our partners we are offering social entrepreneurs access to strategic networks, support and finance to tackle a number of challenges identified in Somerset, Devon and Cornwall.
Join us on 19th October 2017 to:
- Learn more about the Innovation Briefs
- Find out more about Transform Ageing
- Expand your network in the south-west and meet other innovators working in the sector
- Find out about the funding and support we're offering to support social entrepreneurs
We hope you can join us.
Transform Ageing, funded by the Big Lottery Fund, is a pioneering programme to improve people’s experience of ageing. It brings together people in later life, social entrepreneurs and health and social care leaders to define, develop and deliver new solutions that better support the needs and aspirations of our ageing communities.
